Sunday School

DSBC offers a variety of classes in small group settings. It is in these gatherings that individuals will develop family-like connections with each other and deepen their faith and knowledge in their walk with Christ. We welcome visitors to come share in a time of Bible Study on Sunday mornings. A wide selection of classes for various ages and learning styles offers something for everyone. Feel free to visit different classes to find which is a good fit for you. Classes begin at 9:30 on Sunday mornings and our greeters will be happy to show you where the classes meet.

Nursery /Toddler Class

A nursery / toddler class is provided for the youngest children. It is a safe and nurturing environment with caring teachers. Infants – 3 years

Preschool Class (ages 3-5 years old)

This class uses the curriculum “Bible Stories” for preschool age children. Each lesson includes a Bible story and Bible verse with appropriate hands-on activities to reinforce the lesson. This is a fun and engaging way to introduce young children to the Bible.

Children’s Class (Grades 1-3)

This class uses the Gospel Project series that covers the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. All the lessons point to Jesus and the Gospel message. A DVD and related activities are a part of this class. Many of these children are at the age when they accept Jesus as their Savior. These lessons reinforce material they learn in a “New Christian” class offered as needed to young people in the church.

Children’s Class (Grades 4-5)

This class uses the Bible Studies for Life series designed for older children to help them have a deeper understanding of the Bible and how it relates to their relationship to God and each other. Children at this age may feel led to accept Jesus as their Savior. These lessons reinforce an understanding of what being a Christian means in their personal lives.

Youth Class

The youth class is open to all in grades 6-12. The class opens with general discussion with input from students. This class uses the “Bible Studies for Life” literature designed specifically for youth to encourage a closer relationship with God. Scripture is read and examined. Life applications as related to young people are discussed.

College and Career Class

This class is designed for young adults in college or entering a career path after high school. The focus is to equip young adults with a deeper understanding of their faith, through in-depth Bible study, discipleship, and the application of Christian truth and principles to life.

Young Adults Class

This class offers an in-depth study of the Bible using the Gospel Project series with life applications for young adults who have graduated from high school. The class includes both singles and married individuals. Discussions and input related to the lesson are encouraged.

New Directions Class

The New Directions is a diverse class comprised of single and married individuals ranging from college age through middle age and older. It is a discussion oriented class using a variety of materials. Sometimes, current topics and societal issues are analyzed through a Biblical perspective. At other times, the class will have a deep study of Jesus’ teachings, or examine a book or section of the Bible. Our goal is to increase our walk of faith with Jesus as the Holy Spirit guides us through life, making us to be like Him in word and deed.

Great Expectations Class

The Great Expectations class is a traditional style class that uses Lifeway’s “Masterwork” literature. Everyone has their own book to study the lesson prior to class on Sunday. Additional material is presented to enhance the material and aid in discussion and participation from class members. The class includes both singles and married individuals.

S.A.L.T. Sisters (Sharing and Learning Together)

The S.A.L.T Sisters class is open to women of any age. This class uses the Gospel Project literature for its lessons and Bible Study. It includes input and class discussions as part of the class.

Jennings Brooks Class

This is a men’s class that encompasses a discussion-based format which focuses on Bible Study with personal life applications. Group discussion is a major component which seeks input and views from class participants.

New Life Class

The New Life class is a diverse class with both men and women. This class focuses on Bible Study and prayer. The class begins with a time of fellowship on Sunday mornings, followed by a time of prayer and continues with the lesson. The class currently uses Lifeway’s “Masterwork” literature. Class members are engaged through participation and discussion in a relaxed and nurturing environment.

Shelva Wilson Homemakers/ Dorcas /Friendship Class

This is a lady’s class for those middle age and up. This class uses the “Bible Studies for Life” literature that provides each participant a book to study the lesson and incorporates class discussions.

Fellowship Class

The Fellowship Class is a traditional men’s class for senior-age men. This class uses the “Bible Studies for Life” literature that provides each participant with a book to study and prepare for the week’s lesson along with class discussions.
